Terms of Service & Platform Usage Policy

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of the MWI Inspection Portal and MWI AI Assistant operated by Marine Welding & Inspection Services Ltd (“MWI”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
By accessing or using the platform, you agree to comply with these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the platform.
1. Platform Overview
The MWI Inspection Portal is a digital platform designed to support vessel inspection, defect management, reporting, and analysis.
The platform may include:
- Vessel inspection registers
- Defect tracking and management
- Survey report generation
- Image and document storage
- Thermal scanning observations
- Historical inspection data
- The MWI AI inspection assistant
The platform is intended for professional use by authorised inspectors, vessel operators, and approved clients.
2. User Accounts
To access the platform, users may be required to create an authorised account.
Users are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials
- Ensuring account information is accurate
- Preventing unauthorised access to their account
MWI reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts where misuse or unauthorised access is detected.
3. Acceptable Use
Users must use the platform only for lawful and professional purposes related to vessel inspection, reporting, and maintenance tracking.
Users must not:
- Attempt to access systems or data without authorisation
- Interfere with platform security or infrastructure
- Upload malicious software or harmful content
- Misrepresent inspection data
- Use the platform for illegal activities
- Attempt to reverse engineer or replicate the system
Any misuse may result in account suspension or termination.
4. Inspection Data Responsibility
Inspection records and defect reports entered into the platform are created and maintained by authorised inspectors or users.
Users are responsible for ensuring that:
- Inspection observations are accurate
- Uploaded images and documentation are relevant to the inspection
- Defect descriptions and recommendations reflect the inspector’s professional judgement
MWI does not automatically verify the accuracy of inspection data entered by users.
5. AI Assistant Disclaimer
The MWI AI assistant is designed to help interpret inspection data and assist users in navigating vessel reports.
The AI assistant:
- Uses inspection records stored within the system
- Provides summarised explanations of inspection data
- Does not alter the original inspection records
AI responses are advisory and informational only.
They must not be treated as a substitute for professional inspection decisions, classification society approval, or regulatory compliance verification.
6. Platform Availability
MWI will make reasonable efforts to ensure the platform is available and functioning properly.
However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
The platform may occasionally be unavailable due to:
- maintenance updates
- infrastructure upgrades
- technical issues
- security protection measures
MWI is not liable for temporary interruptions to service.
7. Data Ownership
Inspection data uploaded to the platform remains the property of the client organisation or inspector who created the records.
MWI retains the right to store, process, and display this data for the purpose of operating the platform.
MWI does not claim ownership of client inspection reports.
8. Intellectual Property
All software, system architecture, AI models, design elements, and proprietary platform features remain the intellectual property of Marine Welding & Inspection Services Ltd.
Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative versions of the platform or its underlying technology without written permission.
9. Security and System Protection
MWI implements security measures to protect the platform and stored data.
Users must not attempt to:
- bypass security controls
- access restricted areas of the system
- exploit vulnerabilities
- extract system data without authorisation
Such actions may result in immediate account termination and possible legal action.
10. Limitation of Liability
The MWI Inspection Portal is a reporting and analysis tool designed to assist inspection processes.
MWI shall not be held liable for:
- decisions made based on inspection records
- vessel maintenance actions taken by users
- reliance on AI-generated explanations
- operational losses or damages resulting from platform use
Final responsibility for vessel safety, repair decisions, and regulatory compliance remains with vessel owners, operators, and certified inspectors.
11. Modifications to the Platform
MWI may update, modify, or improve the platform and its features at any time to enhance performance, security, or functionality.
These updates may include:
- new inspection modules
- additional AI capabilities
- system performance improvements
12. Termination of Access
MWI reserves the right to suspend or terminate platform access if a user:
- violates these Terms
- engages in misuse of the system
- attempts to compromise platform security
Termination may occur without prior notice if required to protect the platform or other users.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
Any disputes arising from the use of the platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate UK courts.
